Katrina Brickey
Clay Street Center has 13-15 regular volunteers. They are an essential part of our team.
Each day, between one and three volunteers help with activities and provide friendly and fun conversation for our members. They treat our members with dignity and respect and often say they receive much more joy and love from donating their time than they give. Our entire team is excited to be giving back to this caring community and is committed to serving older adults in the greater Greenville area.
Volunteer with us and brighten someone's day. Share your wisdom, kindness, and companionship with those who need it most. Join us in creating a warm and caring community for our seniors and ourselves.
Co-Founders Story
How Clay Street Center Started
Sally had a life-long dream of opening an Adult Day Center to help seniors continue to live at home, remain as independent as possible and have full, meaningful lives. When her father was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia, it was time to make the dream a reality. Resa Remus Stariha, a Greenville native, with a degree in finance, offered to be co-founder.
Danish Festival Weekend 2016, the brainstorming began. They found an ideal building in Greenville near the Flat River Trail. With the help of family and friends, they were able to begin renovations. They hired Theresa Williams-Ralph to help run the center and recruit volunteers to assist with the daily programs. Thanks to a generous grant from the Greenville Area Community Foundation, a Life Enrichment Coordinator, was added to the staff in February 2019.
